The grand finale of Mr World Bangladesh, a leading male beauty pageant, will be held at the Rajdarshan Hall 3 of International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) today at 06:00pm. Owners of event management firm Antar Showbiz has been organising the male beauty contest titled ‘Shajeeb Group Mr World Bangladesh’ for the first time ever. From the ten finalists—Ahsan Raj Hanif, A Rab, Joitu Chowdhury, Mahdi Hasan Fahim, Hamza Khan Chowdhury, Zubaer Khan, Rasel Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan and Shujan Islam, one contestant will be crowned as the “Mr World Bangladesh”. Anchored by RJ Saiem, model-actress Shanjan, model Prince and Wall Mart’s Fashion Designer Abdullah –Al- Mamun will present on the occasion as judges. The winner of this contest will take part in the ‘Mister World 2019’ scheduled to be held in August in Manila this year. Bangladesh is going to introduce itself in Mr World 2019 competition for the first time through Miss World Bangladesh 2019 organised by Xposure Limited. Chairman of Exposure Limited Swapan Chowdhury said this while addressing a press conference organised by Xposure Limited at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium in the capital on Tuesday. Swapan Chowdhury said, “It will be the country’s first ever and only beauty competition for men. This year, the winner of this competition will be the representative of Bangladesh at international stage of Mr World 2019 which will held in Philippine.” Licensing and Compliance Director of Xposure Limited Rezaul Karim said, “The registration for Mr World Competition has started and the registration process will remain open for all till midnight of July 17. The applicant for the competition must be a Bangladeshi citizen. After organising the ‘Miss World Bangladesh’ leading two beauty pageants representing the country in the global platforms, event management firm Antar Showbiz has now moved to organise ‘Mister World Bangladesh’. Registration has opened for males aged between 18 and 27, said the organisers. Winners will represent Bangladesh in the Mister World 2019 in Manila slated for August this year. “Bangladesh’s girl have earned accolade in the ‘Miss World’ competitions. Now, we want to organise ‘Mister World Bangladesh’ for our boys,” Antar Showbiz Chairman Shapan Chowdhury said on Monday (Jul 15). Jessia Islam and Jannatul Ferdous Oishi were crowned as the winner of Miss World Bangladesh in 2017 and 2018 and subsequently represented Bangladesh in the 'Miss World' in the respective years. Registration of Mister World Bangladesh has already begun, said Chowdhury before adding details will be provided at a media call on Tuesday (Jul 16). This year, 100 contestants will seek the ‘Mr World’ crown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, one of Asia’s largest indoor arenas, in Manila, the Philippines on Aug 6 with the final taking place on Aug 23, according to the website of the competition. The Festival will begin with an Olympic style opening ceremony where contestants across the globe will compete in the three-week event to be ‘the world’s most desirable man’. Last year, Rohit Khandelwa from India was crowned the Mr World tile, according to its website.
